Ever since this post, I've been meaning to make something using embroidery hoops. Well, I finally did it. I decided to make an embroidery hoop snowman to hang on the front door. It takes almost no time at all!
What you'll need:
- felt (white, black, yellow/orange, and your favorite color for the scarf)
- 2 embroidery hoops (large and small)
- hot glue
- scissors
- 1 or 2 cable zip ties
Put the white felt into your embroidery hoops and tighten them.
Cut the edges of the felt somewhat close and then hot glue them to the inside of the hoops.
Using a zip tie, attach the tops of the hoops. Make sure the tie is extra tight so the hoops don't move. The scarf will cover this.
Cut a simple scarf from your favorite color felt and add a little fringe. Attach it to the snowman with hot glue so it doesn't fly off, especially if you plan to hang it outside.
Cut a few black circles for the eyes and the mouth and an orange triangle for the carrot nose. I decided to add a top hat but any kind of hat would be cute. Attach all of this with some more hot glue and you're done!
You are one creative gal. This is a great idea. :)

This is so clever! What a wonderful way to use hoops in winter decor. I am going to forward this to my mom, she loves snowmen. Maybe we can even make one together when I am home for the holidays! I can't wait to see more DIY tutorials on here!
