So today I thought I would fill you guys in on what's been going on with me. I've recently made a few changes in my life that will inevitably lead to some changes here on the blog.
Yesterday was my last day at my full time job as a product photographer. After weeks of deliberation, I've decided to move on. This was a very difficult decision for me but I'm happy and confident with the choice I've made. I'm going back to work at a local bakery and I'm really excited to join the team again. Basically, I'm simplifying my life. Instead of spending more than 2 hours a day commuting, I'll be riding my bike to work. Many of my shifts will be very early but this means I'll be home early. I'll have more time to be creative, cook, bake, work on DIY projects, etc.
I should probably mention that I'll without a doubt miss my old coworkers. Leaving work yesterday was much more difficult than I had anticipated. I know I'll be visiting them in the future... and bringing fresh baked treats!
These lifestyle changes have inspired me to change a few things here on the blog. My work schedule will not be as regular, which means my posting will not be as regular... and that's OK! I need to remind myself of that. I created this blog because I love sharing my thoughts, recipes, and craft projects. I did not create it to cause myself stress.
I have a feeling that this new outlook will lead to more interesting and creative posts. After all, change is GOOD, right?
Have a great weekend, everyone!
P.S. The vintage pillow cases pictured above are the ones I found at a yard sale last weekend (in the original packaging)!
Oh, wow! Congratulations! I'm a big fan of simplifying; I hope everything works out wonderfully for you.

DeleteI don't know you but as a person going to school to enter into the line of work you just left is actually inspiring. I'm currently and administrative assistant and after doing so for 20+ years I'm truly burnt out, and I believe that going back to college after my daughter turned 15 was the best decision that I've made in my life + so I congratulate you on your life change + and I'm hoping that in the Sping of 2013 when I graduate with a mere Associates Degree in Photography + I'm hoping that I can also make some small life changes. Best of luck to you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wye! I think changes like this are extremely important. Best of luck to you too!

ReplyDeleteThanks, lady! The simpler the better! That's my new motto. :)
DeleteI'm so glad you're doing what makes you happy. I'm glad you'll be biking to work (instead of crazy commutes), I'm glad we'll potentially have more time to hang out, and I'm glad I'll be getting some complimentary baked goods in the near future. I'm kidding about the baked goods. Haha. Congratulations + best wishes all around!!! I'm confident this move will make your life richer. I couldn't be happier for you.
