July Favorites

Where has this summer gone? I can't believe it's already August! July turned out to be a pretty great month so I've put together a round-up of some of my favorite highlights...

I didn't realize until just now that all of my recipes this month were chilled. I guess turning on the oven in July just wasn't very appealing. Recipes (from the top) include... orzo salad, homemade sangria, and spicy pickled carrots.

My roommate Amy and I took a trip down memory lane when we found some Perler beads at a thrift store in the beginning of the month. I had forgotten how fun these were!

I put together a money saving plan towards the end of the month and I've been doing my best to stick to it. I found that making a list of ways to save really helps.

A new feature here on the blog called Let's Get Real made an appearance in July. I hope to write many more of these posts in the future. You can see those posts here and here.

I didn't get a chance to do much thrifting in July but when I did, I found some really cool stuff including lots of cute kitchen items and an awesome German thermometer

Although my cookies didn't win at the fair this year, my chili recipe was a hit! I'd say that chili competition was probably my absolute favorite part of July!

That just about wraps up the month of July here on the blog. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new free desktop!

  1. Wow, that drink and the risotto look so yummy! And I finally had to throw my grey converse away because they were so old and the soles were worn. I also love your vintage finds! -Jessica L

    1. Thanks, Jessica! I can't even count how many pairs of Converse I've worn until they fell apart. They're by far my favorite shoes!
