Cake in a Can

The other night I decided to do a little experiment. I made a cake in this giant Hershey's syrup can... and it worked! Since this was just a test run, I used a cake mix. I sprayed the inside of the can with cooking spray and baked it for over an hour. The cake came out really dense, kind of like a bundt cake. After allowing the cake to cool, I cut it into layers and frosted it. The photo below gives you an idea of how small it is. Isn't it cute?

    1. I actually just used a cake mix to test this out. Lots of cake recipes would work though. You just have to bake it for a really long time!

  2. I imagine if you look up coffee can cake, you can find lots of recipes. I'd just be concerned with the BPA in the lining of the cans, which leeches more at high temperatures.
